What a fantastic Derby month we had! Now we Louisvillians are back to the grind and already dreaming of next year’s shenanigans! In the meantime, I’ve been re-evaluating my budget – Derby season hits me right in the purse – and came to the realization that I apparently have a thing for monthly/quarterly product subscriptions. Now, I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, but let’s get the skinny on subscriptions…
There are TONS of them out there. You can literally get a subscription for almost anything. Date night? There’s a subscription for that. Meal plans? Subscription. Like books? Get a subscription! Want more plants? Just get a subscription! Pie of the month? You bet!
As you know by now, I’m a sucker for social media ads. So yeah, I’ve tried several subscription boxes. Some of them were real winners and others just weren’t a good fit for me. Since I’m all about sharing things I love, here are my top 3 beauty subscriptions that I kept long after the trial period ended.
Let’s start with my absolute favorite, FabFitFun (www.fabfitfun.com)! I know what you are thinking, “Great, another FFF ad!” WRONG! This is not an ad. I’m not being paid or sponsored in any way. I just literally LOVE this subscription box so much. Where else can you get a totally awesome box of full-sized awesomeness for $49 a quarter? My boxes are always on point with things like hair goodies, make-up, décor, workout gear, clothing, jewelry and random beauty products. It’s like Christmas in a well packaged little box. I’ve discovered some of my favorite beauty products thanks to the FFF box. You really should give it a try! If you have a friend with a discount code or free box code you should totally hit them up for it. If not, send me a message and I’ll share mine. They give the codes to all FFF users after a certain amount of time.
My second favorite subscription is something nearly everyone needs, razors! I have been using Billie (www.mybillie.com) razors for nearly a year now and I’ve never even considered cancelling my subscription. Starting out you pick a color razor and the frequency of your delivery. Each Billie starter kit is $9 and comes with 1 handle, a magnetic holder (that is awesome btw) and two 5-blade razor cartridges. I love how smooth my legs are after I use the Billie razors. Seriously, this thing is awesome! Even more than that, I love the fact that a $9 four pack of replacement cartridges gets delivered to me once a month. That means I never have to worry about running out or remembering to rush to the store for a new pack of razors. Easy peasy, lemon squeasy!
My third favorite subscription is one that I didn’t initially love, Ritual Vitamins (www.ritual.com). You have probably seen an ad for these vitamins on Facebook or Instagram. They are the really cool looking clear vitamins with little floating balls of happiness inside and a minty aftertaste. Initially I wasn’t too sure about this vitamin because it does contain Omega 3 found in Algal Oil, which (you guessed it) comes from shellfish, salmon and tuna. If you have ever taken fish oil you know what that can mean, fish after taste. I was super concerned with that in the beginning, especially since this awesome little capsule contains mint extract. Fishy mint… yum! I quickly discovered that the mint actually helps cover that up a bit and if taken with food I didn’t have any problem with the Algal Oil. Problem solved. Plus, Algal Oil and the rest of the ingredients in the multivitamin were really important things that my doctor recommends I take daily (Folate, Magnesium, iron, Vitamins B12, D3, E and ect). Seriously good stuff in there! The lovely thing is the subscription is only $30 and delivered once a month. They even have a pre-natal option now. I never have to run out or skip days because I was too lazy to get out and pick up more vitamins. This is really a win-win situation! So go ahead, check ‘em out!
I really hope this quick list of my favorite subscriptions helps you identify some of the good ones. I love hearing about new product and fun subscriptions, so tell me, what are some of your favorite subscriptions? Let’s compare notes!
Cheers to the journey,
