Parallel thought is something that has been on my mind lately, and I was encouraged by a friend to write a blog to address these thoughts, as they may help others who work in the creative space. I have been inspired by many people over the last few years which has led me to where I am with my company, Yes Brands, and this blog YesLouisville.com. It’s funny how people impart knowledge upon you which can dwell in your mind for periods of time and then something can ignite that idea that makes you turn it into something tangible.
A little bit of back story, for those who don’t know- this concept of positive content was inspired by Tim Ferriss and his interview series of high-profile individuals with the goal of deconstructing their habits and rituals into actionable tips for listeners to help to make their lives better. I was someone who benefitted from this content, as I took many of these steps to heart to help make my life better and to improve my quality of life, both from a physical and a spiritual angle. And it worked. And along the way I have discovered that the secret to life truly is in the cliché. It’s the simple things, habits, foods, experiences that drive us to have the most fulfilled and wonderful life. It’s not in the stuff.
So I started doing a podcast which I titled the #502LeaderSeries, where I would chat with business leaders and social influencers in our community, to talk about their journey in life. The goal was similar to the show by Tim Ferriss that inspired me- to deconstruct their habits and rituals into actionable tips that listeners can use to make their lives better. And I have met some amazing people because of this podcast, and I have been able to expose the greatness of people to others and inspire people to do things in their own lives that they might not have thought about previously. And that was my goal and is my intention every day. I want to make the world a better place, and I have started by making myself a better person. I have taken my own medicine. And I truly believe in my heart of hearts that once you invest in yourself, you are better able to invest in the lives of others. You can’t pour from an empty cup, as someone once said to me.
So why did I write this blog? It is to address something that has been bugging me and something that I want to get out in the open- my thoughts are the product of many people that I have been blessed to be in the presence of. I have taken many ideas from others in how they live their lives and used them to help make my own life better, and in turn it has resonated in the content that I project into the world. I have realized that this shifted my own thinking to a parallel plane with theirs. With this post I want to thank everyone that has been an influence to me- I appreciate your wisdom and guidance so much. There are many people who are in this creative space and I do my best to give credit where credit is due. Thank you to all for coming to www.YesLouisville.com to get inspired, to find that positivity you need, and to live your life with pure intentional.
