Hey there everybody, its Rose! I truly am a sucker for this time of year, because I love showing the people around me how much I truly love and appreciate them, and being able to spend quality time with them. The older I get, the harder it is to be able to get enough time in with all the people that make my world go around. I am thankful always, and try to never take for granted the people or the life I have been so graciously given. However, I think it is normal for everyone to sometimes get caught up in the routine of life, and bypass how special so many things and people are in our lives. Therefore, that is why this time of year really grounds me to truly remember what is most important in life, and to never take things for granted.
First and foremost, my family is absolutely everything to me. I have been blessed with the downright most loving and amazing parents. They raised me right, and instilled so much in me that has forever shaped and made me who I am. They make me feel loved, they make me laugh, and they have abundantly supported all of my dreams and passions. My brother and sister, are not even siblings, they are my dear friends. I love them and look up to them immensely, and cherish them more than they would ever know.
My boyfriend Ryan, who also happens to be my absolute best friend, is what I call my real-life angel. God knew what he was doing, and gave me Ryan when I needed him most. He makes me feel beautiful and more than enough every single day. Not a day goes by that he doesn’t go out of his way to do something for me, to make me laugh, to tell me he loves me, and to tell me how beautiful he thinks I am. We have a bond more special than I could have ever wished for in a partner, and my life is forever changed because of him.
What is a life without great friends? I am so happy to have so many different friends in my life. Whether distance has us apart from one another, or I get to spend each day with them, I am equally thankful for each one. My friends make me happy, help me make light of situations, and make my circle of life feel wholesome. I have dance friends, work friends, friends from my hometown, and friends from school/college that all mean so much to me in so many different ways.
Every single night I thank God for health in my life. I see and read so many stories that truly break my heart to think people go through every single day. I am so thankful for my health, and for the ability to do so much and pursue so much actively that is so enjoyable and therapeutic for me. Without these, I know my life wouldn’t be what it is today. Health is something that is so easy to take for granted, but I am thankful more every day for mine.
Dance has undoubtedly made me who I am. It has led me to Louisville, which has led me to the love of my life and some of my dearest friends. Dance has given me so many forever friendships, let alone given me my true and deepest passion. It has given me so many opportunities and experiences a girl can only dream of, and I am so beyond thankful for that. Dance has given me this opportunity at Yes Louisville, and has made me fall in love with Louisville. This is just the surface of all dance has given me, and I am always thankful for that.
In a life without forgiveness, there would be people and things that I would not have right now. I think forgiveness is a vulnerable thing, but something that I am willing to give to people, and also thankful for the ones who have granted it to me as well. Life is full of mistakes, regrets, and things we are not always so proud to have done or said, so I am thankful for forgiveness.
- The Man Upstairs
Last, but most certainly not the least is God. The Lord has been my rock, my center, and the base of my life since the beginning. I am so grateful my parents raised me the way they did with religion aspects, because life makes sense even on the gray days because of the man upstairs. He forgives, he listens, he grants, he teaches, and he loves absolutely unconditionally.
I am thankful for so much more than this list, but just for the gift of life and all that it has to offer is an everyday blessing. Happy Holidays Everyone, enjoy!
