Mitch Hedberg has a joke that talks about how Pringles actually started out a tennis ball company. On the day the rubber was supposed to show up, a big truckload of potatoes arrived. Their CEO looked at the pile and said: “Fuck it- cut ’em up!”

All jokes aside, this is a fantastic lesson on fluidity and flexibility. Rolling with the punches, as they say.

To be the best person, in my experience, is to be resilient. To take what life gives you and come out shinier than you started. It’s about seeing that the things that challenge us are really just opportunities for us to take action to make a difference. But you can’t get to the point of taking action if you aren’t open to the changes in the first place!

So be flexible. Nobody likes a person who has the ‘my way or the highway’ attitude. Be like the tree. For the wind does not break a tree that bends,
