Priscilla McIntosh wasn’t on my radar of guests for the #502LeaderSeries. Directly anyway. But the things that she’s doing is definitely on my radar. I think that it’s on all of our radars. Because she works with a disease that affects nearly every family, every home, every circle in our city and in our nation. Heck, the world even. Because we’re all people. And we all deal with the same issues. I’m talking about addiction.

Twenty-one and one-half million Americans battled a substance use issue in 2014. That’s about 7-8% of the population. That’s an enormous amount of people. I’d imagine that you know someone that has struggled, at one point or another in their lives, with something.
Priscilla McIntosh is the CEO of The Morton Center, a facility that was founded more than a quarter-century ago to help people struggling with substance abuse and addiction. How she came to be in this position is an interesting story. Listen to this episode of the #502LeaderSeries podcast, presented by 502 Fit Pass. We can all learn something from this talk, and it’s somewhat fitting coming out at the first of the year.
If you know someone who is struggling with alcohol or drugs, you can reach The Morton Center at (502)451-1221 or click here for their website. And remember- everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind, always.
