I hope everyone has had a great holiday season! And I hope 2019 will be your best year!
So a lot has been going on between work, life, dance lessons & hitting the gym. It’s been busy, but it’s all good busy.
Middle of October, I decided I needed to do something about my weight. I reached around 291 lbs and i noticed I wasn’t fitting into clothes I did, I had a hard time at a theme park when I couldn’t fit comfortably into the coasters. So I had enough of that and partnered with a trainer to get my weight under control. Since Mid October i’m down 25 lbs and I’m feeling way better. I started doing dancing around end of November and even since then dropping an additional 10 lbs It makes me move a little better and I don’t feel as winded. So thanks to everyone who’s encouraged me on this weight loss journey. My initial goal was to lose 30 lbs and then regroup with my trainer and re-evaluate my plans. I don’t know where my long term goal for weight is, but I ultimately my long time goal is to be around longer.
Jen and I have practice a good chunk of our routine! It’s looking great! Other than a few hiccups on my part here and there, but overall, it’s passable, and thats crazy to think that I’ve only had about 5 lessons so far and I know how to foxtrot, some waltzing, and some salsa-ing.
Also! On Jan 28th I will be on WLKY along with a couple of other dancers to talk about Dancing with the Prospect Stars. And performing a clip of the routine. So if you are up in the morning you should totally watch me!
So last week we had Sommer and Dena of the ALZ chapter come in and do a podcast for our 502 Leader Series. That will be coming out next week. So be sure to subscribe to the 502 leader series podcast so you will be informed when that drops! It was an eye opening experience to talk to these wonderful people.
Did you know that Alzheimer’s is the 6th leading cause of death in America, BUT, there is no cure or treatment? That figure stuck out with me the most. You are diagnosed with this disease and it’s currently game over. This is why i’m dancing and raising money for them. My grandma never had a shot after being diagnosed with dementia. I made it so if we are facebook friends you can now easily donate through that platform. I’d love for you all to stand with me to help make a difference! If you made a new years resolution to become more charitable or donate money to a good cause. Look no further! Donate here! Maybe make some sacrifices this month, skip your coffee, or don’t go out to eat this week.
Also if you want to see me dance and entertain please go ahead and buy tickets! It’s going to be a lovely evening and I’d love to see you all there rooting me on and cheering for me. If you buy tickets just make sure to find my name so I get the credit. Also if you are a business and are interested in purchasing a table and get some advertising let me know! Drop me a message on facebook or email!
Thanks again everyone! I’m excited for you all to see the dance and all the hard work i’ve put into this.
