The YES List – But First, Coffee [#TheYesList]

Yes Louisville LOVES coffee!

And tea, cider, hot cocoa, scones, muffins…pretty much all the goodness available in a coffee shop. We are super spoiled to live in a city with TONS of quality local establishments to frequent for caffeine on the daily! Here’s our current Top Local Coffee Houses…in no particular order.

Curious about our other Louisville Favorites?! Check out The Yes List section of our website for more lists of what we love in Louisville!

1 Please & Thank You

Our first Yes Louisville office was inside Story Louisville in NuLu, right above this local favorite!

We'd walk down the back stairs & right into the hallway connecting the front & back of the shop. So, obviously we had WAY too many (or just enough) of their delicious chocolate chip cookies! We also made friends with the baristas & enjoyed seeing their smiling faces every day.

Bonus: Please & Thank You has a SOLID vinyl collection & they are always spinning something special to enjoy while sipping your frothy beverage!

Two locations on E. Market (one in NuLu & one Downtown) & one on Frankfort Ave.

800 E. Market St.
252 E. Market St.
2341 Frankfort Ave.

There are FIVE locations throughout the city & Southern Indiana (& they just expanded to INDY...Congrats!) so find the place that fits you best & enjoy a chill Cup o' Joe on this chilly day.

3 Heine Brothers' Coffee

Heralded as Louisville's Original Coffee Shop, Heine Brothers' Coffee never disappoints. I'm drinking a sugar-free caramel latte as I type this (boring, I know) & it's delicious! They're my go-to spot close to home for morning meetings!

Heine Brothers' isn't just great coffee, they're also a generous sponsor of events in the city & supporters of local non-profits! We appreciate the quality caffeine & giving spirit of this local chain!
They currently have 15 open stores with more on the way!

So many choices...click the link below for a full list of locations! Above mentioned latte purchased at the Schnitzelburg/Germantown location at 822 Eastern Pkwy.

4 Sunergos Coffee

This fun local coffee shop & roastery popped up near UofL on Preston St. in 2003 & became an instant sensation with the college crowd. Many long study hours were spent in that snug little shop & little has changed other than their ever-growing event offerings & fantastic menu!

The Sunergos team has added additional locations, too! They now have four location throughout the city & each location has it's own personality & flair showcasing the history of the space & the neighborhood! We especially love the garage door front of the Norris location on warm days!

306 W. Woodlawn Ave.
231 S. 5th St.

5 Blackbeard Espresso Company

What began as a caffeine machine on wheels making stops throughout the city & at events has now expanded to a store front on Main St! We first met Blackbeard at Fox Hollow Farm's Fall Festival & recently had the chance to meet the team at the Main St. location for a feature about Bourbon & Beyond, where they supply early morning energy for the campground & VIP spaces!

Their frozen blends are amazing & we are always excited to see them around town! Check them out the next time you're downtown & keep your eyes open for the truck, too!

718 W. Main St. 1N

6 Safai Coffee

In the heart of the Highlands, you can always find a swirl of people deep in conversation enjoying every sip of coffee & bite of crepe at Safai Coffee! Their menu boasts more, but these favorites are hard to pass up. We love their front room meeting space, which can be reserved by the hour for classes, friend groups, study sessions, & so on!

We also love the eclectic soundtrack & vibrant local art!
