4 Creepy Things at Idlewild Butterfly Farm

Many of the living specimens in Idlewild's insect lab are most active at night. Join us in the darkened lab where infrared lights illuminate teeming cockroaches, stalking mantids, precarious stick insects, web-weaving spiders, and more! Our often-hidden scorpions will be on display showing off their secret colors under a blacklight, and fan-favorite Blanche the tarantula will be out to meet and greet with visitors.

This event also feature's notorious Spider House: walk through this covered outdoor space filled not with butterflies, but with dozens of web-making spiders! There's nothing between you and the spiders, letting you marvel at these amazing web-makers up close and personal. Be sure to catch feeding time as our staff will be periodically coming through to throw prey into the spiders' webs!

CREEPY THINGS is a special night for all ages focused on appreciating creatures that many have learned to fear. The décor is spooky but the critters are safe, so confront your heebie-jeebies up close and personal!
